Tree of Life Memorial Program
Lafayette Parks and Recreation is pleased to introduce the "Tree of Life" Memorial Program. This program is designed to allow the community to sponsor or make a dedication to a loved one by donating money to have trees planted in one of Lafayette's parks. With this donation, an engraved leaf, branch, or acorn, depending on the amount of your donation, will be placed on the "Tree of Life" sculpture located in the Columbian Park Administrative Office, and a tree will be planted and maintained by Park Staff according to the needs of the Urban Forest and appropriate planting season. This is an excellent way to recognize and memorialize donations from the public. With the engraved piece, your memorial will be publicly displayed and the tax-deductible donation will be in Park records.Celebrations of:

Planting and Maintenance
Trees will be inspected every six months to evaluate general health, disease, and insect problems, watered during growing season, and pruned as needed. Trees will be fertilized as needed and mulched annually. If the tree fails to thrive, it will be replaced.
This program provides a unique opportunity for citizens to take part in beautification, conservation, urban forestry, and the remembrance of a loved one. When you choose to participate in this wonderful program you are not only doing it to remember, you are contributing to the community and public parklands. Trees bring natural elements and wildlife habitats into urban surroundings; all of which improve the quality of life for the residents in Greater Lafayette. The Memorial Tree Program commemorates the life of someone who has made a difference.
