Wood Chips  -  Lafayette residents may help themselves to free wood chips for mulch until it runs out. The location is behind Sears warehouse and Hoffine Garage on Marion Street. Call the Street Department at 765-807-1410 for large amounts and directions.
 
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS
 
Raingarden Seminar - Attend a seminar and get the information you need to build a great raingarden this year, also learn about cost share opportunities! A match of up to $150.00 is available to the citizens of Lafayette and West Lafayette. If you have questions about the rain garden program please contact Crystal Joshua at 807-1036!
 
Hoosier River Watch - Hoosier Riverwatch promotes stewardship of Indiana's waterways through a volunteer stream monitoring and water quality education program. Hoosier Riverwatch is a state-sponsored water quality monitoring initiative. The program was started in 1994 to increase public awareness of water quality issues and concerns by training volunteers to monitor stream water quality.
 
Storm Drain Marking Program - Get involved in helping prevent non-point pollution by stenciling storm drains "Dump No Waste - Drains to Stream".  You will be introduced to watersheds and learn where our stormwater goes. We'll provide the program and supplies...you provide the manpower.
 
Adopt-A-River - Are you interested in cleaning up a local river or stream? Would you like to receive recognition for your stewardship? If so, the Adopt-A-River (AAR) program may be for you!
